The Washington D.C

Wouldn’t it be fun to go to Washington D.C. and stay with all your friends? Well, that is what HMS Teacher Katy Jablonski is offering to do!

There is a 15 person limit for kids going into 7th and 8th grade 2009-2010 school year. It will be fun as well as educational. The students will travel to many historic sites including the Washington Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, historic Williamsburg, the Holocaust Memorial, Mount Vernon, the White House, and many more places! Things the students have studied, such as the government unit in Essential Learnings, will come alive! This trip is organized by World Strides.

The price is $2,184.00. It may be expensive but there is a discount if you pay this year. There are also scholarships. Included in the price will be: three meals every day; a plane ticket there and back; hotel charges; transportation; safety features like night chaperones, coordinators, and liability coverage; all the entrance fees to the places they’ll go and tour guides; even a chance at high school credits.

The students will go for six days. The trip will be over spring break of 2010.
